<p style="text-align: left;">This sign is at the Panda Breeding Research Center in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.  Right outside the area with the infant Pandas, no less.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Mr. Li stuck by his guns even when everyone else said opening a burger joint serving Panda meat was a bad idea.  Opening right across the street from the Panda Breeding Research Center was a gutsy move, but Mr. Li was confident the risk would pay off.  Now it&#8217;s Mr. Li who has the last lau &#8230; ah crud.</p>

<p>In many temples throughout China you will see statues such as this one.  What you are seeing is the face of the turtle.  What you don&#8217;t see is the enormous stone stele sitting on its back.</p>
<p>I found this particular turtle at Qingyang Temple (Temple of the Dark Ram) in Chengdu, Sichuan province.  The temple was originally built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907).  However, most of the temple that remains was restored during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).</p>
